Prof. Kicha Ganapathy Message

… I was just talking to Dharma and RajaRaman two weeks ago–and I've known Raja Raman first as a professor I did my M.Tech in 69, he was instrumental in my coming to US–. And I remember him asking me – the relationship evolved over the year–and he basically said, he might have said, “Eppada Varapore” instead of “Eppa Varapore”, it's quite possible. I said, “I'll certainly see you in December”. And I think Dharma was covering up for him in the sense that she knew he was not well.

And, and I just want to say two sentences here. My very first published paper on decision tables was with him. And I remember reading anecdotes about that in the annals of computing, and offering some comments. Didn't realize that would be his last book. He was– a lot of people have said a lot of things about him.

But let me say this, Dharma is as much an integral part of his life as any. I often used to tease Raja Raman, “Her book has sold more copies than all of your books combined.” Okay.

But be that as it may, it is with fond memories. I won't take up too much time. I'm glad I got to listen in.

Hari, Hari Sarasrabudhe, nice to see you. I haven't seen you in years. And I'll stop here.

Thank you very much for giving me an opportunity to speak.
