Candidates selected for admission in the session 2024-2025 (I) for CSE Department.
An MS/PhD applicant should accurately indicate his/her area of interest for research (e.g., computer architecture, data science, programming languages) while filling in the online application form. This helps the process of matching prospective MS/PhD candidates to potential advisors. Furthermore, shortlisted candidates will be evaluated on the areas of her choice.
It is possible to switch to different areas of research and also switch advisors after a few months, with mutual agreement between the advisee, the old advisor(s), and the new advisor(s). However, note that this is contingent on all the involved parties agreeing and expressing willingness for this to happen.
A choice of topics during admissions will not restrict an applicant's choice of allowed courses/research areas during her MS/PhD. However, shortlisted PG candidates are strongly recommended to credit relevant courses after discussions with their initial advisors.
Excellent candidatures among the Ph.D. applicants may also be entitled for the prestigious Google, IBM, MSR, Qualcomm, TCS, Visvesvaraya etc. PhD scheme. For more information, visit https://phd.dic.gov.in/.
